      The data contained within the Electronic GIS State Highway Log is collected and updated using contract plans, field reviews and information provided by numerous WSDOT Regional and Headquarters offices as well as other county and city sources. Due to the diverse sources of this data, no accuracy statement is available. Also, this data may have changed since the publication date.         Process Description:
          Data used to create the State Highway Log Planning Report was extracted from the Transportation Information and Planning Support (TRIPS) database. Some fields were removed and new fields added. The file was processed with the ARMCalc module to obtain ARM values for placement on the 24k and 500k Linear Referencing Systems.

          GISROADLOG data was provided in table format. Event data was placed along the 24K State Route Linear Referencing System, using ArcGIS's Add Route Events tool for placement, along increasing and decreasing parts of the roadway for point depiction. Data was queried and feature classes were created from the event data. The feature classes were merged using ArcGIS's Geoprocessing Wizard. Feature class data was loaded into an existing ArcSDE feature dataset.

          This dataset was built on top of an existing dataset: the GIS Road Log Ferry Terminals of Washington State, which shows only ferry terminals that are adjacent to a State Route and are owned and operated by the State of Washington. To derive this dataset the approximate locations of all known public, private, provincial and tribal ferry terminals were added based on information from Washington State Ferries and other sources.

        This dataset attempts to depict all ferry terminals located within the State of Washington. It also shows several ferry terminals that are located in British Columbia (Canada) but that are of significance to Washington.
      Entity and Attribute Detail Citation:
        The attributes for this dataset detail the Washington state county, WSDOT Region, and WSDOT maintenance area in which the terminal is located. Also detailed is the owner of the terminal (WSF=Washington State Ferries; state=State of Washington but not Washington State Ferries; private=private entity; provincial=Canadian province; tribal BIA=tribal entity). If the terminal connects to a State Route, the route number is identified.
