Most of our routes offer sailings at least every hour from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Washington State Ferries is an extension of the state highway system, and you will
find directions to ferry terminals well marked by highway signs that may include
white ferry boats.
As you enter our terminals, you will find a holding area for cars and vehicles waiting to be loaded onto the next ferry. Busy summer months and peak travel times may have an overflow of vehicles lined up on the shoulders of roads approaching the terminal. Watch for these queue lines. You need to join them in order to be loaded onto the ferry. You should also know that line-cutting is a serious offense in Washington, potentially resulting in fines and an escort to the back of the line for violators.
