Getting to the Dock

Getting to the Dock Most of our routes offer sailings at least every hour from 6 a.m. to midnight. Washington State Ferries is an extension of the state highway system, and you will find directions to ferry terminals well marked by highway signs that may include white ferry boats.

As you enter our terminals, you will find a holding area for cars and vehicles waiting to be loaded onto the next ferry. Busy summer months and peak travel times may have an overflow of vehicles lined up on the shoulders of roads approaching the terminal. Watch for these queue lines. You need to join them in order to be loaded onto the ferry. You should also know that line-cutting is a serious offense in Washington, potentially resulting in fines and an escort to the back of the line for violators.

Our web site has detailed information on each of our terminals, this includes;

  • The Terminal Address with aerial photo
  • A Link to   for a street map and directions
  • A Link to Ferry Cams (if applicable)
  • WSF Routes sailing from Terminal
  • Expected Wait Times for Vehicles
  • Directions, Parking, ADA, and other information
