Online CADD Standards for MicroStation Using Expanded Levels Manual
(CSM)
- 11-07-06
The first edition of the CADD
Standards for MicroStation Using Expanded Levels manual (CSM) is now
available online. It will not be published in printed form. If you're using
expanded levels, you need to refer to the CSM for WSDOT plan appearance
standards. Plan sheet examples continue to reside in the Plans Preparation
Manual (PPM). The PPM also continues as the reference document for older
projects in the 63 level environment.
The CSM is one of three reference documents that define WSDOT requirements
for preparing and delivering contract plans using the expanded level CADD
environment. Each is described below:
- The CADD
Standards Manual (CSM) defines requirements for how line styles,
fonts, and symbols need to appear in WSDOT plans.
- The Electronic
Engineering Document Standards (EEDS) defines procedural requirements
(non appearance related) for how to prepare the CADD file. See Chapter
7 for information on file naming conventions, sheet sizes, levels, seed
files, and more.
- The Plans Preparation Manual (PPM) contains examples for plan sheets.
Future version of the CSM are expected to include plan sheet examples
as well as standards for other plan disciplines such as traffic, landscape,
and environmental.
Both the CSM and EEDS contain electronic bookmarks and search capabilities
to quickly find the information you need. Both are expected to undergo
many revisions as our expanded level environment matures. It is recommended
you do not print copies of these documents since a printed copy will quickly
become outdated. Please contact your regional CAE coordinator with suggestions
for improving future versions.
