Resource Updates for WSDOT CAE Applications
Notify me of updates
At all times, the latest complete sets of our resources
will be posted on our websites as the FULL VERSION. We will also try to
maintain a patch that will allow users to download just the changes from
the previous FULL VERSION to the current FULL VERSION. It may not be possible
in all cases to provide a patch. Because we will only post one patch at
any given time, users who fall more than one version out of date will
need to download and install the current full version and will not be
able to use the patches.
This information is also available within the resource download in
the date.tag file. It can be found in the
[C:\]CAE_RSC\app._environment folder on any workstation that
has the WSDOT environment installed.
By comparing the file on a workstation to the resource change history,
an administrator can easily tell if the workstation has the latest resources
or not.

Description
| Summary:
This is a fairly large update that includes many changes.
This resource update may impact
your project data so it is important that you carefully review
the information below - particulary the Actions Required After
Update - for
the impacts, update specific issues and tools/technotes to
assist with integrating the new standards with on-going projects.
Also review the CAE
Resource Change Philosophy for more information on change
management in the WSDOT CAE environment.
Some highlights of this update are:
- Revised and reorganized roadway marking levels. There
is a much clearer visual distinction between existing and
proposed RD_MK line styles. Also the line styles have been
redone so that users can apply weights to them for flexibility
in displays.
- The Traffic items for Signals, Illuminations and ITS have
undergone a complete review. There have been many items
added and all the items in these areas have been reviewed
for size and appearance in the regions and in the HQ Traffic
office.
- Generic geometry styles and feature styles in various
colors have been added to the resources for designers to
use for displays and preliminary work.
- Basic resources for batch printing have been added to
the MicroStation resources. An updatedtechnote can be found
at: Inroads - Printing Cross Sections.
- The ability to create and place a Professional Land Surveyor
(PLS) stamp has been added.
- A text import wizard for importing FWD files has been
added to the InRoads resources.
- The WSDOT template library for use with InRoads XM has
been updated to incorporate user comments received since
it was originally published.
Special Installation Note:
The patch version of this resource update includes a cleanup
batch file that will remove obsolete files from your WSDOT environment.

Description
| Summary:
This set of resources is in correction to the 20071017 set.
The 20071017 version placed the COMMON folder of the resources
to the root level rather than under the CAE_RSC folder as intended.
In addition, the WSDOT Create Project utility
was revised to work better in a consultant environment and a
couple of bugs in the MicroStation VBA libraries were corrected.
Special Installation Note:
The 20071017 full set of resources may mistakenly create a C:\COMMON
folder on your workstation the contents of which are shown below.
That directory can be deleted after installing the 20071219
resources.

Expanded Level Environment (for use w/ InRoads)
- Corrected zip file so that the Common folder unzips to
the correct location. Was unzipping under root rather than
cae_rsc as intended.
- Now uses a Create Project.exe that does not modify the
wsdot.cfg file.
- New VBA library that corrects an issue with plotting R/W
sheets.
- New VBA library that corrects problem with Global Cell
Scale macro. Macro was incorrectly affecting group elements.

Description
| Summary:
WSDOT resources now include production versions of resource
files supporting InRoads XM. Other changes include fixes and
the addition of some new survey codes and the supporting symbols
and levels. There are no changes to symbologies, level names
or cell names in this update, so no special steps need to be
taken with on-going project data with the implementation of
these updates. However, because of the changes to the InRoads
2004 INI files to support the new survey codes, users will need
to update their projects’ INI files using IPFSynch.

version of the resources should be deleted and the current version
should then be installed.

Level Environment (for use w/ InRoads)
- Added a filter for the General Utilities levels.
- Fixed Global Cell Scale so that it doesn't affect grouped
elements.
- The size of RD_BR_Fence and RD_BR_FenceNew was corrected.
- EV_EC_InfiltrationTrenchNew was converted from a cell
to a linestyle.
- Correct Place Leader command so that leaders at 20 scale
come out correctly.
- Added a new seed file, GuidSign_Base, for use with the
GuidSign program.
- Added a new item RD_BR_BarrierCenterTemporary for temporary
barriers.
- Changed seed files so that the Place As Cell option is
cleared when a new model is created.
- Modified the Page Layout Tool so that the saved views
created sort correctly.
- Corrected text size of TR_TS subgroup to 0.06.
- Updated various description files for tools in the WSDOT
Toolbox.
- Fixed link to description file for Global Cell Scale on
WSDOT Toolbox.
- Changed the signature title on the R/W title block to
Right of Way Plans Manager.
- Corrected SH_GI_UtilitiesLegend so that it will place
correctly from the WSDOT menu.
- Fixed RD_BR_BarrierCenter linestyles so that they preview
correctly.
- Minor bug fixes to many of the tools on the WSDOT toolbox.
