Notice to Consultants
2000/2003 Structural Engineering for Buildings and Related Facilities

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) solicits interest from consulting firms who wish to be evaluated and considered for future transportation work for our Architecture Division in 2000 through 2003.

General Description:
WDSOT intends to select a Structural Engineering consultant and negotiate a Statewide On-Call agreement for Structural Engineering services for buildings and related facilities throughout Washington. The Consultants will be evaluated, ranked and selected from the respondents to this notice. The professional capabilities of consultants must include Professional Registration as Structural Engineers in the State of Washington.

The On-Call agreement amount totals $250,000.00 over a three year period. However, there is no minimum amount of work guaranteed. All firms responding will be evaluated and ranked based on the criteria listed below. The top ranked firms may either be "short-listed" for interviews, with the top firm being selected from the interviews; or the consultant may be selected directly from the written submittals.

Consultant work may include the following:

  • Pre-Design Services
  • Design Services
  • Construction Services
  • Post-Construction Services

This request for Statements of Interest is subject to RCW 39.19.

Criteria:
Pursuant to state and federal regulations, a qualifications-based selection process will be utilized for these agreements. The consultants will be evaluated and ranked on the following criteria:

  • Project Manager Experience
  • Key Team Personnel Experience
  • Pertinent Construction Administration Experience
  • Team’s Ability to Meet Schedules
  • Team’s Past Performance / References
  • Team’s Office Location(s) and Ability to Work Statewide

Note: All categories will be rated on a scale of 0 to 10. These categories will be used to create a ranking of consultants. If interviews are held, the criteria for selection would be identified to those consultants involved in the interviews. In the event of tied rankings, selection shall be based on the discretion of the contracting agency.
