Business Division Purpose Statement:
The Business Division provides a vital
support role for State Materials Lab and administrative
support and guidance to six Region Materials Labs,
including:
Cost Recovery: rate development,
recovery monitoring and reporting, strategy and change
implementation, billing and training in cost recovery
Accounting and Administrative:
budgeting, payables, receivables, payroll and purchasing
Laboratory-Testing Equipment:
acquisition, inventory, replacement and disposal
Information Technology (IT):
workstation, network, and software support; new technology
implementation
State Materials Lab Library: technical
research, reference services, acquisition of publications,
resource sharing, and general library functions
Facilities Management: building
interiors and exteriors, fixtures, lab testing equipment,
HVAC, grounds, vehicles, employee safety, and emergency
response
Hazardous Waste Management:
storage, inspection, disposal, record keeping and compliance
management for environmental regulations
