Stewardship

WSDOT and FHWA have updated and signed the Federal-Aid Highway Program Stewardship and Oversight Agreement (pdf 275 kb) on February 19, 2008. This agreement clarifies the roles and responsibilities of both the FHWA and WSDOT and Local Agencies in administering the Federal-aid Highway Program.

The FHWA/WSDOT Stewardship Agreement is intended to formalize delegated responsibilities, result in the efficient and effective management of public funds, and ensure that the Federal-aid Highway Program is delivered consistent with laws, regulations and policies. The Federal-Aid Highway Program Stewardship and Oversight Agreement was signed February 19, 2008, and is now available for reference.

The FHWA/WSDOT Stewardship Agreement (2007), Construction Monitoring Plan (Stewardship reporting), deals specifically with federally financed construction performed under contract(s) with WSDOT and administered through the WSDOT Headquarters Construction Office and may be found in Appendix B.

Contracts requiring Final Inspection and Acceptance of Federal-aid Project reports(Stewardship reports)

The Construction Office has completed work on the annual report of Stewardship Reviews (doc 41 kb). This report lists the reviews completed during the past six months and includes updated lists of uncompleted reviews outstanding. The report can be opened or downloaded here as an Excel Workbook (xls 161 kb).
