The purpose of the Advisory Board is to: 1) Review applications for Safe Routes to School funding and recommend project priorities to WSDOT; and 2) Review the program annually and make recommendations to WSDOT for changes.
The Washington State Safe Routes to School Advisory Board will include representatives from the Departments of Transportation and Health, the Traffic Safety Commission and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction as well as local officials and representatives of interested advocacy groups. Participants on the Advisory Board will represent a geographic (Eastern and Western Washington) balance.
