WSDOT accepting applications for new round of airport grants

The Washington State Department of Transportation is accepting applications for the first round of 2017-2019 Airport Aid Program grants. WSDOT anticipates awarding $1.2 million in funding for this round.

To apply, airports can fill out the  Airport Aid Grant Application (pdf 4.2 mb) and  Airport Aid Application Checklist (pdf 332 kb). WSDOT requires that  Airport Aid Grant Assurances are submitted with the application package.

Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Friday, May 12. Qualifying projects should be targeted for completion within the next 12 to 24 months. Eligible projects may include work that begins after July 1, 2017. WSDOT will announce grant-award decisions the week of July 3, 2017.

The next grant cycle will begin in May 2018, with another $1.2 million available in anticipated funding. Airports must apply for projects included in the State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP), and WSDOT will prioritize applications based on their SCIP project scores. Additional guidance is provided in the  WSDOT Airport Aid Grant Procedures Manual - Updated April 2015 (pdf 838 kb).
