WorkFirst Transportation Initiative Goals
- To assist WorkFirst, Welfare-to-Work, and other low-income workers to get to work, training, childcare, and other employment related services, so they can make a permanent connection with the workplace and advance on a career path.
- To coordinate with existing transportation providers so that existing resources are used efficiently and new services are coordinated with existing services.
- To apply for a Job Access and Reverse Commute grant from the Federal Transit Administration to fund projects that fill the transportation gaps that exist between where low-income people live and where they access jobs, child care, and wage progression activities.
- To leverage volunteers and other in-kind community contributions as much as possible for WorkFirst Transportation Initiative projects.
