Work Groups and Their Focus Issues
WorkFirst Transportation Initiative
The WTI mission is to bring WorkFirst partners, transportation providers, Tribal Governments, community based service organizations, and business and community leaders, together to help WorkFirst clients and low-income families to get jobs and better lives.
Transportation Costs Work Group
The Transportation Costs Work Group looks for ways to implement the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation, especially in regards to benchmarks and accountability. This work group develops mechanisms to identify and track transportation services and costs.
Support Groups and Their Focus Issues
School/Community Transportation Coordination Support Group
A group created to provide support to communities that want to coordinate school and community transportation. Members are representatives from school districts, transit systems, and community agencies.
Children's Transportation Work Group
Focusing on overcoming barriers to coordination of children's transportation, this group examines issues such as safety, the use of alternative (non-school bus) vehicles, and driver screening. This group asks the question: How can transportation for children be coordinated to be more efficient and less costly?
Olmstead Planning and Transportation
ACCT is working with DSHS as DSHS prepares its "Olmstead Plan" -- a plan for providing the services necessary to support people in community, rather than institutional settings.
