Clark County


CONSTRUCTION:

SR 501 - 35th Avenue Roundabout
Highway:
SR 501 Region: Southwest County: Clark Location: Mileposts: 18.5

Description: The City of Ridgefield will be construction a roundabout at the intersection of SR 501/Pioneer Street and North 35th Avenue.

I-205 - Paving & Auxiliary Lanes - ODOT
Highway:
I-205 Location: Between the Glenn Jackson Bridge and Johnson Creek Boulevard

Description: ODOT crews will be repaving nine-miles of Interstate 205, in both directions, between the Glenn Jackson Bridge and Johnson Creek Boulevard. They will also improve safety and reduce congestion by creating auxiliary lanes within this stretch of I-205. 
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, July 16 to the morning of Tuesday, July 17: Up to two lanes on northbound I-205, between the I-84 Interchange and the Glenn Jackson Bridge, will close overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving work.
  • Tuesday, July 17 to the morning of Wednesday, July 18: A single-lane of northbound I-205 from the I-84 Interchange to the Glenn Jackson Bridge will close overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving work. 
  • Tuesday, July 17 to the morning of Wednesday, July 18: The eastbound and westbound I-84 on-ramps to southbound I-205 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work.    
  • Wednesday, July 18 to the morning of Friday, July 20: A single-lane on northbound I-205, between Sandy Boulevard and the Glenn Jackson Bridge will close overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving work.
  • Wednesday, July 18 to the morning of Thursday, July 19: The off-ramps from I-205 to Sandy Boulevard, Killingsworth Street and both the eastbound and westbound Airport Way off-ramps will close intermittently, nightly, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving work.  
  • Friday, July 20: The I-205 off-ramp to eastbound Airport Way will close from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., for paving work.
  • Thursday, July 19 to the morning of Friday, July 20: A single-lane of I-205, between Killingsworth Street and westbound Airport Way will close overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving work.

SR 503 - Spur - Chip Seal and SR 503 Rock Creek Rd. to Williams Rd.

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will chip seal and repave sections of SR 503 and the SR 503 Spur.

  • Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20: Travelers on both directions of SR 503, between Northeast 266th Avenue and North Dubois Road will be alternated through a single-lane, intermittently, with flaggers and a pilot car, daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., for paving work.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.
  • NOTE: Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes during construction on SR 503 and on the SR 503 Spur, and significantly longer delays on cross streets when paving occurs at the intersections.   

SR 500 - Camas - Paving & Sidewalk Updates

Description: WSDOT contractor crews in partnership with the City of Camas will repave sections of SR 500 through Camas and improve sidewalks along the highway.

  • Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20: Travelers on both directions of SR 500, between Northeast 6th Avenue and Southeast Polk Street, will be alternated through a single-lane, with flaggers, daily, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for paving and sidewalk work.
  • NOTE: During construction, travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, throughout the construction zone.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.  



MAINTENANCE:

I-5 & I-84 - Ramp Closures - Paving - ODOT
Highway:
I-5 to I-84 Region: Southwest County: Multnomah Location: Exit 301 on SB I-5

Description: ODOT will be paving stretches of I-5 and I-84, as well as several ramps along I-5 and I-84. 
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning Sunday, July 8 to the morning of Monday, July 23: The southbound I-5 off-ramp to eastbound I-84 (Exit 301) will be closed around-the-clock, beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, July 8 to 5 a.m., Monday, July 23, for concrete overlay, bridge repair and rail replacement work.    
  • NOTE: During the ramp closure, travelers should plan to use an alternate route, and expect long delays.


Cowlitz County

CONSTRUCTION: 
SR 4 - Slope Stabilization and Debris Fence Replacement work
Highway:
 SR 4 Region: Southwest County: Cowlitz Location: Mileposts: 49-50

Description: Maintenance crews installed concrete barriers and Conex boxes on the west side of SR 4, to prevent potential debris from falling onto the highway. Work to stabilize the hillside will begin in summer 2018.
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, until further notice: Traffic on both directions of SR 4, between Bunker Hill Road and Germany Creek Road, will alternate through a single-lane, around-the-clock, using a temporary traffic signal. Work to stabilize the hillside will begin in summer 2018.
  • NOTE: The speed limit through this area has been reduced to 25 mph.  



SR 504 - Wooster Creek - Fish Barrier Removal

  • Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, until further notice: Traffic on both directions of SR 504 near Wooster Creek will alternate through a single-lane around-the-clock with a temporary traffic signal.  
  • NOTE: Users of the highway should watch for advanced signs notifying them of the single-lane detour ahead.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.



I-5 - SB Bridges 5/40W and 5/105W - Resurfacing

Description: Crews will replace expansion joints and repave sections of southbound I-5, between Kalama and Woodland.

  • Beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018, until further notice: A single-lane of southbound I-5, between Todd Road and milepost 25, will be closed around-the-clock, for paving and bridge work.  
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.
  • NOTE: The speed limit through the work zone has been reduced to 60 mph. All lanes of southbound I-5 have been shifted throughout the work zone.  



SR 432 - Cowlitz River Bridge - Painting
Highway: 
SR 432 Region: Southwest County: Cowlitz Location: Mileposts 9.57 - 9.89

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will work to remove existing paint and rust, and apply a specialty bridge paint that protects the structure for approximately 20 years.

  • Monday, July 16 to the morning of Friday, July 20: A single-lane on eastbound SR 432/Cowlitz River Bridge will close nightly from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. for bridge painting work. During the closures, crews will intermittently close the Dike Road on-ramp to eastbound SR 432.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent. 
  • NOTE: Travelers should expect delays during construction.   


I-5 - E. Fork Lewis River Bridge to Weigh Station Vic - Paving/Bridge Deck Repair

Description: Contractor Crews working for WSDOT will work to preserve and repave several sections of I-5, between Woodland and Kelso.
Work schedule:

  • Monday, July 16 to the morning of Friday, July 20: Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 between Coweenman River and the weigh station/milepost 44.0, will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.
  • NOTE: The speed limit through the work zone has been reduced to 50 mph. Travelers should use caution and slow down through the work zone.


SR 503 - Spur - Chip Seal and SR 503 Rock Creek Rd. to Williams Rd.

Description: CenturyLink will have contract crews performing an inspection all utility features that have been recently installed along the span of the SR 433/Lewis and Clark Bridge.

  • Sunday, July 15 to the morning of Friday, July 20: Travelers on both directions of the SR 433/Lewis and Clark bridge will be alternated intermittently through a single-lane, with flaggers, nightly, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for utility inspection work along the bridge.

SR 508 - S. Fork Newaukum River Bridge Replacement

Description: Crews will be replacing the aging temporary single-lane bridge span and building a new bridge structure. 
Work schedule:  

  • Beginning Tuesday, April 24, 2018, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 508, between Centralia Alpha Road and Kearney Creek, traffic will alternate through a single-lane, around-the-clock, using a temporary traffic signal, for bridge replacement work.
  • NOTE: All work is weather dependent.


I-5 - MTB - Cantilever Signs and Landscaping

  • Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20: Travelers on both directions of SR 507, between Howard Avenue and the Lewis/Thurston County line, will be alternated through a single-lane daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for tree trimming along SR 507.

SR 105 - North Cove Vicinity - Erosion Protection 2017

US 101 - D St. Vicinity to Water Street Paving and ADA

  • NOTE: During construction, travelers on US 101 should anticipate delays up to 20 minutes through the work zone. Pedestrians using the sidewalk will be directed safely around the area.

US 101 - SR 6 Intersection Improvements and Drainage Work

Tips for Driving Through Work Zones

  • Pay attention - driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
  • Leave room between you and the car ahead of you - most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them.
  • Drive defensively - be aware of what is happening around you.
  • Merge into the proper lane before you reach the work zone.
  • Don't use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving through the work zone.
  • Avoid work zones by using alternate routes.
