SR 129 - Oregon State Line Vic. To Milepost 11.35 Vic. – Stabilize Slopes

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
SR 129 milepost 0 to 11: Monday, April 14 through Friday, April 18 motorists will experience one lane, flagger controlled traffic and up to 30 minute delays between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for slope stabilization work. 

Project Description:
This project stabilizes six rock face slopes on SR 129 between MP 0.14 (Vicinity of the Oregon State line) to MP 11.35. Loose rock and debris will be scaled from the slopes and removed.


Maintenance/Utility Operations: 
State Route 128 milepost 0 to mp 2.5, Monday April 14 through Thursday April 17 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. expect single lane flagger controlled traffic as maintenance workers grind and patch the road surface. 10 minutes delays can be anticipated.

2014 SCR Region Wide Chip Seal

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
I-82 - milepost 88.06 to milepost 89.02 (Gibbon Road Interchange):
Monday, April 14, motorists can expect ramp closures lasting up to one hour starting at 7 a.m. Motorists will also experience one lane, flagger controlled traffic and up to 15 minute delays when using the Gibbon Road overcrossing.

I-82 - milepost 93.30 to milepost 93.92 (Yakitat Road Interchange): Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15, proceeding after completion of work at the Gibbon Road Interchange, motorists can expect ramp closures lasting up to one hour. Motorists will also experience one lane, flagger controlled traffic and up to 15 minute delays when using the Yakitat Road overcrossing.

I-82 – milepost 104 to milepost 105 (Dallas Road Interchange): Shoulder work only, traffic impacts are not anticipated.

I-82 – milepost 109  (Badger Mountain Road Interchange):
Shoulder work only, traffic impacts are not anticipated.

I-82 – milepost 114 to milepost 115 (Locust Grove Road Interchange): Shoulder work only, traffic impacts are not anticipated.

I-82 – milepost 122 to milepost 123 (Coffin Road Interchange):

SR 224 – milepost 0 to milepost 6:
Wednesday, April 16, motorist can expect one lane traffic control with delays of 15 minutes between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Project Description: This project provides for the improvement of existing roadway by performing bridge deck repair, pavement repair, paving with HMA, chip seal application and fog sealing on portions of US 97, SR 22, SR 24, SR 241, I-82, SR 224, SR 193, SR 128 and US 12.

I-90 Hyak to Keechelus Dam Project (mileposts 56 to 61)

NOTE: Rock blasting closures resume at 7 p.m. on April 28. Rock blasting closures are only Monday through Thursday and typically last an hour. However, depending on the amount of debris that comes down and repairs needed to the highway, closures could last longer.

Traffic Restrictions: 

Through April 25:
Traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction 24 hours each day, with the following exceptions:
• Friday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. two lanes will be opened for traffic in each direction.
• Each Friday thereafter, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. two lanes will be opened for eastbound traffic.
• Each Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. two lanes will be opened for westbound traffic.
Drivers should be prepared for up to 2 hour delays through April 25. 


Bicycle Alternate Route:
I-90 is closed to bicycles in both directions between the Hyak interchange (Exit 54) and Stampede Pass interchange (exit 62) because there is no shoulder for bicycles to use. Bicyclists can use the John Wayne Pioneer Trail, weather permitting, as an alternate route.

Project Description:
Crews are building a wider and more reliable five-mile stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam by adding lanes, replacing and adding bridges, stabilizing rock slopes and replacing the snowshed with avalanche bridges.

Oakes Ave. Interchange Milepost 84: 
April 21 through April 24, expect periodic shoulder closures on both ramps at this interchange. 

Thorp Rd. Interchange Milepost 101:
Monday April 14 through Thursday April 17, expect periodic shoulder closures on all ramps at this interchange.

Indian John Rest Area westbound Milepost 89:
The westbound rest area work is completed. 

Indian John Rest Area eastbound Milepost 89:
The eastbound rest area will be closed Monday, April 14 at 6 a.m. until Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. and will be closed again Monday, April 21 at 6 a.m. until Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. 

Project Description:
This project will replace the existing lighting systems at both the east and westbound Indian John Rest Areas. Weekly closures of the rest areas will be required to perform electrical work. The illumination systems at Thorp Interchange west of Ellensburg at MP 101, and Oakes Ave. in Cle Elum, MP 84.5, will also be upgraded.


US 97 / Dry Creek west of Ellensburg Construct Bridge

US 97 milepost 137 to 138 north of Ellensburg:
A single lane temporary detour is in place. Traffic on the detour is limited to one lane and is controlled by a traffic signal which will alternate traffic. Oversize vehicle restrictions are in place. Minor delays can be anticipated. Drivers may consider alternate routes via I-90 or SR 10.

Project Description:
This project will replace the existing box culverts with a bridge at milepost 137. Other drainage enhancements will also be constructed.

US 12 Slide Repair milepost 154.5

SR 24 milepost 23 to milepost 31: Thursday April 17, motorists can expect one lane flagger controlled traffic with delays of 10 minutes between the hours of 7 a.m and 5 p.m.

Maintenance/Utility Operations:
State Route 24 milepost 43, Vernita Rest Area closure for annual maintenance on Monday, April 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Barrels and signs will be placed to advise travelers that the rest area is closed.

Interstate 82 westbound milepost 11.62, on Monday April 14 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. there will be a right lane closure for bridge deck repair work.

State Route 22 milepost 1, Tuesday April 15 through Thursday April 17 one lane flagger controlled traffic between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge deck repair.

Interstate 82 westbound milepost 22, the Selah Creek Rest Area will be closed to traffic on Tuesday April 15 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for scheduled annual maintenance of the facility. Barrels and signs will advise travelers that the facility is closed.

Interstate 82  eastbound milepost 24, the Selah Creek Rest Area will be closed to traffic on Tuesday April 15 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for scheduled annual maintenance of the facility and water system. Barrels and signs will advise travelers that the facility is closed.

US 97 milepost 56, Monday April 14 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. southbound lane closure planned as WSDOT maintenance crew repair guardrail in the vicinity. Signs, cones, and barrels will direct travelers through the work zone.
