State Route 410 is open with detour between milepost 104 to milepost 108. Information updates are available at (509) 577-1635, 5-1-1 or on the SR 410 Nile Valley Landslide project page.

Construction, maintenance, and utility operations:
The 2009 construction season is starting to wind down for the winter. However, drivers still need to be cautious when driving through work zones until work is complete for the season.

While on the road, drivers can tune into the Highway Advisory Radio at 1610 am and 530 am and dial 5-1-1 from their hands-free device for current conditions.

SR 240 Beloit Rd to Kingsgate Way - Widen Roadway

This project will improve safety along 18 miles of SR 240 from Beloit Road (west Hanford gate) to Kingsgate Way, near Richland. The new roadway will have 12 foot lanes with 8 foot shoulders and rumble strips.

I-90 / Snoqualmie Pass East - Phase 1A Hyak to Crystal Springs Detour

Project Description:
This project is located in Kittitas County on I-90 beginning at Stampede Pass Interchange (milepost 63) and continues west on I-90 to the SR 906 interchange (milepost 55). WSDOT crews and the contractor will work to remove, haul and stockpile about 250,000 cubic yards of material from Keechelus Lake storage mitigation site in preparation for the larger three lane project, which starts in the spring of 2010. A temporary bridge over Gold Creek will be constructed as part of this project.

Project Description:
WSDOT will improve I-90 by providing a safer, more efficient six-lane freeway from Hyak to Keechelus Dam. Crews will also will straighten roadway curves, replace old pavement, and reduce rockfall and avalanche hazards. Wildlife and watershed structures will improve habitat conditions. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010.

I-90 / Lake Easton Vicinity to Bullfrog Rd Interchange Vicinity westbound - Replace Portland Cement Concrete Pavement

Current Week Traffic Advisory: On Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 13, during daylight hours, crews will close the eastbound and westbound shoulders intermittently to finish miscellaneous work on the project for the winter season.

Project Description:
This two year federally funded stimulus project is located in Kittitas County on the westbound side of I-90. The project starts six miles west of Cle Elum (milepost 79) and continues west on I-90 to Lake Easton (milepost 71). WSDOT crews and the contractor will replace sections of deteriorated cement concrete panels in the left westbound left lane. Work will also include removing and replacing the cement concrete pavement in the right westbound lane, rehabilitate and grind the existing concrete pavement and add safety improvements.

US 12/Frenchtown Vicinity to Walla Walla – Add Lanes

Project Description:
This project is phase six of eight phases that improve US 12 from SR 124 (Burbank) to Walla Walla. This approximately eight mile project will reconstruct US 12 from McDonald Road to Walla Walla as a four lane divided highway, with improved capacity and enhanced safety.

US 12, three miles west of Touchet: On Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will close the westbound truck climbing lane as crews make repairs to the pavement on US 12 at milepost 317.

US 12 / Tieton River Crossings West and East - Replace Bridges

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
US 12 near Windy Point:
On Monday, Nov. 9, through Saturday Nov. 14, during daylight hours, the contractor will be working on the roadway and on bridge construction. The Contractor will be bringing in 200 ft. prestressed girders on Tues, Nov. 3. Drivers will experience minor delays of up to one-half hour. Flaggers will direct traffic through a single lane in the work zone. Be aware of pilot cars and give the delivery vehicles plenty of room.

Blasting operations will begin on Thursday, Nov. 12. Closures of US 12 will be as advertised on Monday and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day. 

Project Description:
This project is located on US 12, 10 miles west of the US 12 and SR 410 junction. WSDOT will replace two structurally deficient bridges spanning the Tieton River. Crews will construct two new bridges alongside the existing bridges. Blasting existing rock faces will provide the space needed to realign US 12 and connect the new bridges.

SR 410 Nile Valley landslide emergency work:
On Monday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 15 WSDOT and contractor crews will continue work on the SR 410 winter-durable temporary. Drivers will experience delays associated with construction activities.

US 12, west of the N. 16th Avenue on-ramp: On Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 8 a.m., crews will close the right westbound lane on US 12 at milepost 201, just west of N. 16th Avenue on-ramp, to make repairs to road signs.

Current Week Travel Advisory: On Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 13, during daylight hours, crews will close the shoulder on US 12 to finish construction activities before the winter season.

Project Description:
Through this project, Chehalis contractor crews will install a platform drainage system and stabilize the slope below US 12. The slope was undermined due to a large amount of runoff, and the drainage system repairs will redirect water to reduce the effects of slope erosion and protect the roadway from future damage.

Maintenance/Utility Operations:
US 12, six miles west of White Pass Summit:
On Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 13, during daylight hours, crews will reduce traffic to one lane with alternating traffic on US 12 between milepost 143 tom milepost . A flagger will direct traffic through the work zone.
