I-90 / Snoqualmie Pass Vic. – PCCP Rehab EB / Storm water Retrofit / Delineation

Current Week Traffic Advisory: I-90 milepost 47 to 55.2

Eastbound: Right lane closures 24 hours a day. Work hours are primarily Monday night through Saturday morning from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Be alert for other traffic revisions and lane shifts. A center lane will be closed continuously during the week in the eastbound direction, this will require traffic to shift to the right or left. If you notice that there are lane closures with no apparent work going on, our contractor has placed new concrete in the roadway which must cure to gain strength. 

Westbound: Single lane closures 24 hours a day Monday night through Saturday morning from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Be alert for other traffic revisions and lane shifts.

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of I-90 at the summit of Snoqualmie Pass from milepost 47 to 55.15 in King and Kittitas Counties. Work will consist of rehabilitation of the existing concrete pavement by replacing selected concrete panels, insertion of steel dowel bars in the pavement joints and diamond grinding of the surface. A pilot program will test LED lane and edge line markers. Other work will consist of standard striping of the highway, and drainage and paving work at the Hyak maintenance facility.

Current Week Traffic Advisory: Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22, motorist can expect one lane piloted traffic control with 20 minute delays between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of existing roadway by pavement repair, paving with HMA, chip seal application, installation of new and repair of existing guardrail, pavement markings and centerline rumble strips.


Maintenance/Utility Operations:
Interstate 90 westbound milepost 50, Denny Creek Bridge: Monday, August 18 through Thursday, August 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. the right lane will be closed for bridge deck repair.

I-90 Hyak to Keechelus Dam Project (mileposts 56 to 61)

Rock blasting- related closures:
• Monday, August 18 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, August 19 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, August 20 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Thursday, August 21 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

During rock blasting-related closures, crews will close I-90 in both directions from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Price Creek (milepost 61). During blast closures, there are no services eastbound past milepost 53 at the summit or westbound past milepost 70 near Easton. This work is weather dependent and will be subject to change.

Due to the nature of blasting operations this season, closures may last longer than an hour. This web page will be updated with extended closure information to help drivers plan their trips across Snoqualmie Pass.

Daytime Restrictions: Drivers should prepare for occasional rolling slowdowns both directions, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours.

Nighttime Restrictions: Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions, Monday through Saturday, during nighttime hours.

Bicycle Alternate Route: I-90 is closed to bicycles in both directions between the Hyak interchange (Exit 54) and Stampede Pass interchange (exit 62) because there is no shoulder for bicycles to use. Bicyclists can use the John Wayne Pioneer Trail, weather permitting, as an alternate route.

Project Description:
Crews are building a wider and more reliable five-mile stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam by adding lanes, replacing and adding bridges, stabilizing rock slopes and replacing the snow shed with avalanche bridges.



I-90 / MP 61 (Price Creek) to MP 65 – Paving

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of 3.54 miles of I-90 in Kittitas County from milepost 62 to 65.54. Work will include removing the existing asphalt surface and repaving. Other work will consist of striping, guardrail and other safety items.


I-90 / MP 65 to MP 67 (Easton Hill) Eastbound & Westbound – Paving

Current Week Traffic Advisory: Work will resume August 25. Drivers can expect single lane closures in the westbound direction Monday through Friday from 10:00 pm until 9:00 the following morning.
  
Project Description:

This project will pave both directions of I-90 from milepost 65.5 to 67.3. 



I-90 WB West of Ryegrass Rest Area – Paving 
I-90 - Milepost 123 to 125.5, westbound only

Construction Begins: August 4, 2014
Scheduled Completion: First week of September, 2014
 
Current Week Traffic Advisory: Monday, August 18, motorist can expect lane closures during work operations. One thru lane will be open at all times. Where the westbound roadway is reduced to one lane the regulatory speed limit will be reduced to 60 mph.
 
Project Description: This project rehabilitates failing asphalt by removal, disposal, and placement of new asphalt.


Maintenance/Utility Operations:
US 97 milepost 143: Tuesday August 19, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Expect intermittent delays for ditching operations. 

Interstate 90 eastbound milepost 101: Thursday, August 21 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. expect intermittent short delays at the eastbound Thorp off ramp. Trucks will be entering and exiting the roadway for ditching work.

Lewis County

Maintenance/Utility Operations: 
US 12 milepost 138 to milepost 151, Tuesday, August 19 from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. WSDOT crews will be grinding areas of pavement with alternating one lane traffic. Drivers can expect possible 30 minute delays. Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21, crews will be performing ditching operations with alternating one lane flagger controlled traffic. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Project Description: This project provides for the removal of lose and unstable rock and other debris located on slopes adjacent to SR 410.
