2ND ST to Highland Ave. Paving and ADA Compliance

Current Week Traffic Advisory: 
SR 129: Monday Aug. 1 through Friday Aug. 5 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., motorists will experience single lane closures with two way piloted traffic control and intermittent delays of up to 15 minutes. 

Project Description:
This project provides for improvements to SR 129 between the mileposts of 36.2 and 41.3. The existing asphalt roadway surface will be ground out and replaced with new hot mix asphalt. This project also updates pedestrian facilities by upgrading ADA curb ramps and crossings within the City of Asotin.



Maintenance/Utility Operations:
SR-129 both directions milepost 0 to milepost 33: Tuesday Aug. 2, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. there will be a mobile striping operation.

Steptoe Roundabout Improvements 
SR 240 Milepost 37.6 to milepost 37.7 (Steptoe and Columbia Park Trail)

Current Week Traffic Advisory: 
Monday Aug. 1 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. access through the roundabout will be prohibited via Columbia Park Trail. SR 240 off ramp and Steptoe St. will remain open and the roundabout will be reduced to one lane. Motorist will experience flagger controlled intersection traffic movement and intermittent delays of up to 15 minutes. 

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvements to the Steptoe Roundabout by modifying existing curbing, traffic islands and realigning lane approaches into the roundabout. Additional improvements will include new signing and pavement markings.

Current Week Traffic Advisory: 
I-82 milepost 82 to milepost 92: Monday Aug. 1 through Friday Aug. 5, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., motorists will experience single lane closures and a narrowed traffic lanes both east and westbound. One lane of traffic will be open at all times. The regulatory speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during the hours of work activity.

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvements of I-82 between the Prosser and Yakitat Rd. Interchanges by removing existing aged asphalt and new asphalt paving east and westbound. Other improvements include the application of new pavement markings and guideposts. The bump located at mile post 92 eastbound will be repaired as a part of this project.



SR-240 – City of Richland – MP 26.03 to MP 26.49 – Installing Sanitary Sewer Line

Current Week Traffic Advisory: 
Drivers should prepare for potential delays in both directions of SR 240 from milepost 25 near Twin Bridges Road to milepost 27 near Kingsgate Way on Friday, July 29 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., due to a single lane closure while contractor crews remove traffic barrier along the shoulder of SR-240. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.

Project Description:
The contractor for the City of Richland will install a buried sanitary sewer line, across and along SR 240 between MP 26 (approximately 1 mile east of the SR-240/Twin Bridges Road) and MP 26.5 (approximately 0.4 miles west of the SR-240/Kingsgate Way Intersection). 
 


Benton City – SR-224/SR-225 Construct Intersection Improvements

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of the SR-224/SR-225 intersection located adjacent to I-82 at Benton City. The project will replace the existing intersection with a roundabout, relocate the existing park and ride lot, modify the existing drainage system, and install new high mast street lighting.

Project Description:
This is a City of Pasco utility project, and the City of Pasco’s contractor will be installing a new water main under the SR-397 (Oregon Avenue) roadway between MP 20.47 and MP 21.86.

Median Cable Barrier and Guardrail Improvements

Daytime: 
I-90 milepost 37 to 38 (Approximately 5 miles east of North Bend): Monday night through Friday morning, eastbound traffic will encounter a one lane closure during the day. Two lanes will still be open to traffic. Minimal delays are anticipated.  

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of beam guardrail and high tension cable barrier in the South Central Region at various sections on I-90, I-82, US 12, SR 240 and I-182.


Maintenance/Utility Operations:
I-90 milepost 45 to 46 westbound: Monday Aug. 1 and Tuesday Aug. 2, the right lane and westbound 45 on and off ramps will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for asphalt grinding.
 
I-90 both directions milepost 45 to milepost 57: Monday Aug. 1 through Thursday Aug. 4 between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. there will be a mobile operation to replace pavement markers.

I-90 milepost 46 to 45 westbound: Tuesday Aug. 2 the right lane and westbound on and off ramps will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for asphalt paving.

I-90 westbound milepost 51: Tuesday Aug. 2, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. there will be a left lane closure for bridge inspection.

I-90 milepost 49 to 51 westbound: Tuesday Aug. 2 the two left lanes will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for bridge deck repair and inspection.

I-90 milepost 44 to 45 westbound: Wednesday Aug. 3 the right lane will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for an asphalt grinding and paving operation.

I-90 westbound milepost 49 to 51: Wednesday Aug. 3 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. the right lane will be closed for bridge deck repair and inspection.

1-90 milepost 38 to 39 westbound: Thursday Aug. 4 the right lane will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for asphalt grinding and paving.

I-90 milepost 34 to 72 eastbound: Friday August 5 will have a mobile sweeping operation from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SR-906 / West Summit to Hyak & I-90 Interchanges - Paving

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of 2.6 miles of SR 906, 0.45 miles of SR-906 SPUR, I-90 Exit 52, I-90 Exit 53, and I-90 Exit 54 in the Snoqualmie Pass Vicinity. This project will include removing and replacing asphalt pavement, updating guardrail and rehabilitating a bridge deck on SR-906.


I-90 Hyak to Keechelus Dam Phase 1C – Replace Snowshed and Add Lanes (mileposts 57 to 60)

Current Week Traffic Advisory:

Daytime:

Monday through Friday, drivers should prepare for intermittent rolling slowdowns in both directions. Minimal delays are anticipated.

Nighttime:
Monday night, through Saturday morning, westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane each night. Traffic delays are not anticipated.

Scheduled rock blasting-related closure:

• Wednesday Aug. 3 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be a closure each night as indicated above on Snoqualmie Pass for rock blasting. While these blasts are planned to last one hour, it is always possible that clean up efforts could take longer if more material comes down than predicted. Traffic will be stopped eastbound at milepost 56 near Gold Creek and westbound at milepost 62 near Cabin Creek. During blasting closures there are no services eastbound past exit 53 near the Summit of Snoqualmie Pass or westbound past exit 70 near Easton.

Bicycle Alternate Route: I-90 is closed to bicycles in both directions between the Hyak interchange (Exit 54) and Stampede Pass interchange (exit 62) because there is no shoulder for bicycles to use.

Project Description:
Crews are building a wider and more reliable five-mile stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam by adding lanes, replacing and adding bridges, stabilizing rock slopes and replacing the snow shed with avalanche bridges.


I-90 Keechelus Dam to Stampede Pass Phase 2A – Add Lanes / Build Wildlife Bridges (mileposts 62 to 69)

Motorists will encounter night time lane closures Monday through Friday in both directions. Minor delays should be anticipated.

Scheduled rock blasting-related closures:

• Wednesday Aug. 3 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be a closure each night as indicated above on Snoqualmie Pass for rock blasting. The existing four lane facility will be replaced with a new six lane highway which includes several new bridges, drainage structures, chain up areas, illumination and ITS facilities and a wildlife overcrossing structure.

This project will provide for improvement of 2.2 miles of eastbound I-90 from milepost 67 to 69. Work will consist of paving the roadway and rehabilitation of the bridge deck crossing Sparks Road. Guardrail work will also be included.

• Beginning at 7 a.m., Main St. / Cleman Rd. (the Kittitas bridge over I-90 at Exit 115) will experience one way flagger controlled traffic across the bridge from 7 a.m.  Monday until Thursday morning at 6 a.m. for bridge deck repair.
• Mainline I-90 will experience lane closures and shoulder closures 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. both directions between milepost 106 121 for shoulder work. 
 
Tuesday Aug. 2
• Kittitas bridge at exit 115 one-way flagging will continue.

Wednesday Aug. 3:

The following week ( Aug. 8 to Aug. 11), the westbound I-90 to eastbound I-82 ramp will be closed for a four day period beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday evening and continuing until 6 a.m. on Friday morning.

Project Description:
This project will replace the pavement on I-90 between US 97 and Stevens Road. It will also rehabilitate bridge decks and repave ramps.

Current Week Traffic Advisory

Due to heavy summer weekend traffic volumes, eastbound drivers should expect up to 2 hour delays on the afternoons of  Friday, July 29 and again on the afternoons of Thursday, Aug. 4 and Friday, Aug. 5. Plan ahead to avoid traveling across the bridge from 11 am to 11 pm on those days or take an alternate route.

Eastbound: Drivers can expect delays as traffic merges down to one lane 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Concrete barrier has been installed to close one of the two eastbound lanes across the bridge until September 2016. Friday afternoons, holidays, and event weekends will experience significant congestion with delays ranging from 20 minutes to 2 hours during peak traffic times. Delays are less than 5 minutes during off-peak times. Loads over 14 feet wide are prohibited through the project area. Drivers may consider taking an alternate route using US-97, I-82 or SR-24.

Westbound: No restrictions. Both westbound lanes are open. 

Project Description:
This project repaints the Vantage Bridge with a new protective coating to restore and prolong the life of the bridge. The bridge was last painted in 1984 and since then the protective coating has deteriorated exposing the steel to rust and corrosion.

I-90 both directions milepost 45 to milepost 57: Monday Aug. 1 through Thursday Aug. 4 between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. there will be a mobile operation to replace pavement markers.
 
I-90 eastbound milepost 55: Monday Aug. 1 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. there will be a left lane closure for bridge deck repair.

SR-903 both directions milepost 0 to milepost 1: Monday Aug. 1 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. WSDOT crews will have a flagging operation for crack sealing.

SR-903 both directions milepost 1 to milepost 2, Cle Elum, near Oaks Ave: Tuesday Aug. 2 and Wednesday Aug. 3, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. WSDOT crews will have a flagging operation for crack sealing.

I-90 westbound milepost 123: Tuesday Aug. 2 between  the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. there will be a right lane closure for pavement repair.

I-90 westbound milepost 123: Tuesday Aug. 2 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. there will be a left lane closure for pavement repair.

I-90 milepost 67 to 68 westbound: Wednesday Aug. 3 the two left lanes will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a crack sealing operation.

I-82 eastbound milepost 12 to milepost 14: Thursday Aug. 4 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. there will be a right lane closure for concrete roadway repair.

I-90 milepost 34 to 72 eastbound: Friday Aug. 5 will have a mobile sweeping operation from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

US-12/ Palisades Viewpoint to Wildcat Creek Vic. Emergency Repairs Stage 2

Project Description:
This project provides for the improvement of US 12 in various locations on White Pass between milepost 141 and 165. This project will restore the roadway that washed out by means of installing a retaining wall, placing select rock embankment, restoring drainage, installing traffic barrier and repaving the asphalt.
