Why is WSDOT
pave SR 17?
This section of SR 17, from the Franklin County Line to just south of the SR 17/SR 26 Interchange, at Othello, needed pavement restoration. A layer of asphalt was ground off, damaged sections repaired, and then it was repaved with Hot Mix Asphalt.
The End Result
The project prevents further deterioration to the existing roadway at the least possible "life cycle" cost.
Project Benefits
- Extends roadway life.
- Provides a smoother driving surface.
- Installs both centerline and shoulder rumble strips.
