The SR 433, Lewis and Clark Bridge Deck replacement made a number of improvements, which will extend the life of the bridge for another 25 years. The entire bridge now has a new driving surface and the roadway and shoulder widths are the same all the way across the bridge. Raised sidewalks were replaced with five-foot wide shoulders on both sides of the bridge. The wider shoulders have improved safety for bicyclists and pedestrians, and help motorists maneuver around disabled vehicles.
