Recent Progress
Deck replacement panels (103) are now installed on the bridge. During the third and final full weekend bridge closure, rapid setting latex modified concrete was placed for a new roadway surface over 1500 feet on the Washington side and 80 feet on the Oregon side of the bridge. Some other items now completed include new roadway lighting, seismic retrofit, new safety railing system for bridge inspections, and updated navigational lighting.

Design Construction Impacts
To date, an additional $5.3 million has been requested for additional work to the stringer-to-floorbeam connections that was not anticipated prior to construction.

|
Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Silt fences capture sediments from runoff to avoid impacts to the river, as outlined in the Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. The contractor implemented a containment plan to ensure lead from deck removal did not release into the environment. A Peregrine Falcon Management Plan is again helping to avoid potential, adverse impacts from construction during the nesting activity.

Impacts to Traffic
124 weeknight full bridge closures, approximately 120 weeknight single-lane closures, and three full weekend bridge closures were required to complete the work.
