Woody debris placed in the newly consturcted natural streambed provides habitat for cutthroat trout and other wildlife.Crews are paving the median in order to widen I-405 through Kirkland. A great deal of work goes on at night to help keep traffic moving during the day.Crews are pouring the concrete on the deck of the new I-405 bridge over NE 116th Street. The last section of old bridge was recently demolished. Bridge demolition and construction occurs in phases to keep I-405 open during construction.Drivers will be traveling over the new NE 116th bridge by this fall; the old bridge had to be demolished to widen I-405.Crews are building planter boxes on the east and west sides of the NE 116th Street bridge. The planter boxes, in addition to a new sidewalk, lighting, and architectural bridge panels will improve safety and aesthetics within the area.
