The state, county and city departments of transportation established three working groups to help inform the design and environmental review process for the viaduct's central waterfront replacement. Here you will find information that we presented to the groups at their regular meetings.
Meeting note: The central waterfront, north portal and south portal working groups have recessed for the summer. The next meetings will be held in the fall.
North portal working group
This group focuses on the proposed SR 99 bored tunnel's north entrance.
August update
- Since the June 4 meeting, program engineers have developed a second option for the north portal. The primary difference is the configuration of Sixth Avenue. Both north portal concepts have been updated to include transit lanes and to reflect road and ramp widths more accurately. Both of the options below will be included in the second Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
