This project was originally planned to be constructed in 2010, but has been extended to 2016.
The project will upgrade the structural integrity and extend the life of the existing asphalt surface by grinding and repaving 12.81 miles of US 97 from MP 213.45 to 226.26.
Why is WSDOT
paving and improving this section of US 97?
This section of US 97 will be in need of pavement restoration by 2016. Spot safety items will also be incorporated to improve the overall performance of the roadway.
The End Result
This project will restore the structural integrity of the pavement. It will also improve safety by installing new, higher visibility striping, installing centerline rumble strips, and updating existing guardrail.

Construction is scheduled to begin the spring of 2016 and will finish late summer of the same year.
