The Washington State Department of Transportation's highest priority is safety. This project installed guardrail and provided roadside improvements along this 30 mile section of US 97 in Klickitat County to reduce the severity of collisions that occur and enhance safety along the highway.
This project improved safety for the traveling public along the US 97 corridor in Klickitat County by reducing the severity of collisions where motorists have driven off the roadway.
Partnerships & Cooperation
WSDOT addressed the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.
