This photo from January 9th shows the damage caused by a whirlpool that ate a huge hole down to the Ruby Creek culvert and collapsed the pavement above it. This what it looked like with temporary repairs on January 19th. Huge rocks will be placed here to stop high water from washing out the roadway. The riverbank has to be rebuilt and protected with new rip rap (giant rocks), then the shoulder has to be restored and repaved. This section of shoulder near the Tronson Creek Campground was completely rebuilt under the stage 2 contract. This culvert headwall for King Creek was permanently rebuilt under the stage 2 contract.
