US 395 - North Spokane Corridor - US 2 to Wandermere Vicinity

Status

April/May 2012

  • Weekly Construction Update.
  • US 395 is reduced to one lane in each direction from Wandermere Road to the Little Spokane River.
  • Awarded to Graham Construction of Spokane with a construction bid of $37,540,555.

This contract completes the paving on six lanes of freeway between Farwell road and existing US 395 at Wandermere.  Two bridges will be constructed to span the final gap at the north end of the route.

Why is WSDOT building this section?
this project will complete about two miles of freeway along with the final bridges.  When this segment opens, traffic will flow along the NSC for about 5.5 miles.

The End Result
Free flowing traffic on 5.5 miles of the 10.5 mile corridor.

Project Benefits
Improved freight and passenger vehicle mobility for north/south traffic in the Spokane area.

What is the project timeline?
The job is currently under construction and is slated to open to traffic in June 2012.
