US 2/Wenatchee-Build Trail Connection-Wenatchee, MP 119.69B to 119.76

Project Description
This project will construct a new bridge adjacent to the railroad bridge on US 2/97 and extend the Apple Capitol Loop Trail to the west around the northbound off ramp to connect with US 97A/Euclid Avenue. This will provide a designated connection for bicyclists and pedestrians from the Loop Trail to the Port of Chelan County's Olds Station Industrial Park, the adjacent commercial district and shopping center and US 97A.

Recent Progress
The design team has finalized the plans, specifications, and estimate.  The project is scheduled for advertisement on March 17, 2008.

Design Construction Impacts
Design and construction of the pedestrian bridge over the BNSF railroad will require significant coordination to ensure succesful delivery. 

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
A biological assesment and archeological survey have been completed.

Impacts to Traffic
The project will have minor impacts to traffic and trail users.
