US 2 - Westbound Hewitt Avenue Trestle Project - Complete October 2002

Overview
This older trestle, located east of Everett on US 2, needed structural repair and repaving. Safety improvements were made to the guardrail, striping, signing and pavement markings. WSDOT completed an efficient, safe and environmentally responsible rehabilitation on this trestle to extend its life and make it safer for drivers.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
We extended the life of the bridge and restored its structural integrity. The bridge refurbishing and repair made the bridge stronger and safer for the traveling public.
Leaf Glyph Protects Environment
To minimize project impacts on the environment, contractors used a containment system to prevent debris from falling into the water during construction.

Partnerships & Cooperation
WSDOT worked in partnership with Snohomish County and the surrounding cities to inform them of the closures and anticipated impacts and to work out detour agreements.
