The eastbound lane of US 2, east of Index, began to sink after heavy rains caused a landslide. By January the lane had sunk over seven feet.
Crews monitored the area constantly to ensure the roadway was safe for drivers.
The guardrail also dropped with the land and road when record rains hit the area.
