Looking east on US 2 - Crews installed a new pedestrian walkway and bus pullout.Looking west at the Old Owen Rd intersection - Crews installed a new sidewalk on the north side of the highway. In August crews finished paving the widened shoulder and new sidewalk for the bus pullout. Between the two sections of pavement, crews will construct a grassy ditch to filter roadway runoff before it reaches the Sultan River.Crews widened the roadway shoulder of westbound US 2 near Sultan to provide room for buses to pull out of traffic completely while loading and unloading passengers. This will increase safety for pedestrians and reduce delays for travelers who would otherwise be stopped behind the bus.
