Check out construction photos on our Flickr site.

We will improve safety on US 2 at several key locations between Monroe and Gold Bar.

East of Monroe: 245th Ave SE to 153rd Place SE (mp 17.9 to 18.3)
245th Ave SE to 153rd Place SE
We will build a new two-way left-turn lane between 245th Ave SE and 153rd Place SE. Between 1999 and 2007 there were eight rear-end collisions along this stretch of highway.

Sultan: 10th Street to Walbrun Road, near park-and-ride lot (mp 22.9 to 23.06)
Sultan - near park-and-pool lot
We will extend the existing two-way left-turn lane in Sultan and reconfigure the 11th Street intersection and the entrances to the park-and-ride lot. There were 34 rear-end collisions along this stretch of US 2 between 1999 and 2007, including five injury collisions and seven possible injury collisions. There were also two collisions involving drivers turning onto US 2 from a side street.

East of Sultan: Sultan-Startup Road (mp 24.73)
Sultan-Startup Road
We will close the western connection of Sultan-Startup Road and US 2, on the north side of the highway. There were 13 rear-end collisions at this location between 1999 and 2007, and one collision involving a vehicle entering the highway from a side street. Five of those 14 collisions were injury collisions.

Gold Bar: 10th Street to Dorman Road (mp 28.59 to 28.9)
Gold Bar two-way left-turn lane
We will extend the existing two-way left-turn lane to Dorman Road. On this stretch of US 2 there were 14 rear-end collisions between 1999 and 2007, including one disabling injury collision and two evident injury collisions. There were also three collisions involving vehicles turning onto US 2 from a side street.
