This 12-mile stretch of US 2 will be paved in both directions.US 2 is the northernmost all-weather highway though the Cascade Mountains. It runs from Everett to Idaho.Drivers will benefit from a smoother, safer ride on US 2 between Monroe and Sultan. We will also install centerline and shoulder rumble strips, and new pavement markings.We began designing this project in February 2009. We plan to begin construction in summer 2009 and complete the project in winter 2009.
