Project Complete July 2009
Construction began June 1 and was complete July 23, 2009.
This preservation project paved 9.96 miles, which began at MP 89.14 (near the Tumwater Campground) and ended at the west city limit of the town of Leavenworth.
Why is WSDOT
paving US 2?
The project upgrades the structural integrity and extends the life of the existing pavement, improving the ride as well as providing drainage and safety improvements.
The End Result
The project preserves the roadway, improves safety and reduces maintenance costs.

What is the project timeline?
Construction began June 1 and was complete July 23, 2009.
Financial Information
This project was advertised for private contractor bids on March 16, 2009. Two qualified bids were opened on April 16th. On April 20th, contract #7716 was awarded to Central Washington Asphalt, Inc. for $1,683,781.53, 23% below the engineering estimate.
