US 2 - Espanola Road to I-90

August 2014

  • Weekly Construction Update
  • Awarded to Inland Asphalt Company of Spokane with a construction bid of $5,108,782.
  • Construction underway.
  • Drivers should be alert for lane restrictions, rough pavement, and possible delays.  Most paving will be done during evening and overnight hours.

US 2 will be resurfaced with hot mix asphalt.  Also, a signal system will be installed at the Flint Road intersection.

Why is WSDOT Resurfacing this highway?
This project preserves the roadway by milling (grinding down) and repaving US 2.

The End Result
Upgrades the structural integrity and extends the life of the roadway.

Project Benefits
Paving upgrades the structural integrity and extends the roadway life. The signal will provide control over traffic flow at this connection to the Spokane Airport.

What is the project timeline?
Work on the project should start during 2013 but may extend into 2014, depending on weather and other factors.
