Design Construction Impacts
A Corridor Study was conducted on the stretch of US 2/97 from this intersection to Wenatchee with a final report issued June 20, 2002. Open houses were conducted on April 21, 2001, November 7, 2001 and February 3, 2002 exposing the community and Chelan County to the proposed needs. The community and local agencies will continue to be involved as the design progresses. A park and ride lot and transit stop will be impacted with the location of the interchange and will therefore be relocated to a serviceable location. A design/access hearing will be scheduled for the fall of 2004. Purchasing Right of way will begin in the Fall of 2005.

Impacts to Traffic
Traffic will be impacted on US 97, US 2 and on local county roads. On US 2, traffic will be detoured or shifted onto either side of the existing highway during construction. On US 97, traffic will not be impacted until the major tie ins are made due to the proximity of the interchange to the existing US2/97 intersection. Final detour and staging plans will be completed in the Spring of 2005.
