Overview
The current road surface was deteriorating in this eight-mile section. Repaving preserves the existing pavement structure and extends pavement service life. The end result is a safer highway, a smoother driving surface and extended roadway life. This was achieved by overlaying the existing pavement with about 2 inches inches of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
