Project Description
Attalia Vicinity is the third phase of five phases that will reconstruct US 12 as a four lane divided highway from SR 124 to the Walla Walla River, and develop a plan for future four-laning from Wallula to Walla Walla.

Recent Progress

An access hearing for this project was held on October 16, 2003 as scheduled.  The Project Office is in the process of evaluating hearing testimony and other issues in order to publish the Findings and Order for the hearing in the spring of 2004.  The Project Office has had preliminary meetings with Boise Cascade to discuss access issues.  The Project Definition has been sent to WSDOT Headquarters for approval.

Design Construction Impacts
Currently there are no impacts anticipated that could affect delivery dates.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Currently there are no impacts anticipated that would affect the delivery date.  The Environmental Assessment will be updated to evaluate project specific areas not covered in the original report.

Impacts to Traffic
We anticipate limited one-lane closures and brief delays to allow for truck operations during the construction phase.
