Project Title & Location
US 12 – Phase 4, Walla Walla to Wallula Planning Study, Walla Walla County

Project Description
This planning study will prepare initial environmental documentation to determine the preferred corridor alignment for US 12 from the Wallula junction to Walla Walla, addressing congestion and safety needs for the highway.

Contractor/Consultant
David Evans and Associates conducted the Preliminary Environmental Investigation.  Additional analysis will also be conducted by DEA.

Recent Progress
WSDOT has analyzed the north, middle, and south (existing) alternatives using the preliminary environmental and engineering data. WSDOT has chosen to continue design and environmental documentation with a single northern corridor through phases 7 and 8.

Finish Level 1 Analysis Aug 06   Sept 06  A Level 1 alternatives analysis was sent to FHWA on September 8, 2006.  An e-mail response was received on September 26, 2006.
Environmental Document  

The Level 1 analysis recommended that an Environmental Assessment be conducted for this project.
