Project Description
This planning study will prepare initial environmental documentation to determine the preferred corridor alignment for US 12 from the Wallula junction to Walla Walla, addressing congestion and safety needs for the highway.

Recent Progress
The Design Team began preparations for the Phase 6 access hearing and began preparing right of way plans. The Design team talked with the City of College Place, City of Walla Walla, and Walla Walla County about intersection location and design for the proposed Phase 6 corridor. The second IPT meeting was held on September 27th and 28th in Walla Walla. Topics included discussions of preliminary resource impacts, the status of each phase of the planning study, and the TPEAC watershed subcomittee pilot project.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
David Evans and Associates completed the preliminary Environmental Resource Studies in September. The Planning Study was designated as a TPEAC Watershed Subcommittee pilot project. Economic and Engineering Services, Inc. was hired to coordinate the implementation of TPEAC watershed process into this project.
