US 12 – Phase 4, Walla Walla to Wallula Planning Study, Walla Walla County

Project Description
This planning study will prepare initial environmental documentation to determine the preferred corridor alignment for US 12 from the Wallula junction to Walla Walla, addressing congestion and safety needs for the highway.

Recent Progress

Recent progress includes surveying, field investigations, data research, and preliminary borings for soil conditions.  An Open House was held in late March to answer questions about the project and schedule.  The Transpo Group has been hired to conduct a traffic analysis.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
An Interagency Project Team or IPT will assist WSDOT in identifying the baseline conditions and environmental impacts for the alternatives.  David Evans and Associates has been hired to conduct the Environmental Resource Studies.
