Project Description
This project is phase six of eight phases that improve US 12 from SR 124 (Burbank) to Walla Walla. This approximately eight mile project will reconstruct US 12 from McDonald Road to Walla Walla as a four lane divided highway, with improved capacity and enhanced safety.

Contractor/Consultant
David Evans and Associates prepared the Resource Reports. Landau and Associates have studied the springs near Pine Street.

Recent Progress
The contract plans are complete. Project advertisement for bids was delayed until December 17, 2007 for acquisition of right of way. Bid opening is scheduled for January 30, 2008. Project construction should begin in the spring and is expected to take two years, ending in October 2009.

Design Construction Impacts
The project is on schedule, on budget, and on scope as per the approved 2007-2009 Transportation budget.

Environmental documentation and permitting is complete.

Impacts to Traffic
WSDOT will construct a 50 MPH detour at the Pine Street intersection for public safety.
