US 12 - Clemons Road Vicinity

Project Description
This project will make safety improvements to US 12 between milepost 7.0 and 8.0, including the vicinity of the Clemons Road Intersection, and other high-risk areas along this corridor.

Contractor/Consultant
The project has not been advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress
The design concepts and the Intersection Plan have been approved.   The contract plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) package is 100% complete. 

Design Construction Impacts
Some improvements will require the relocation of buried and overhead utilities.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Some improvements being considered for this project will impact storm water runoff and roadside ditches.  The required storm water treatment plans have been developed and are included in the final PS&E. 

Impacts to Traffic
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during daylight hours. While the mainline lane restrictions are in place, traffic entering and leaving Clemons Road will be restricted to right in and right out movements only.

Certain work activities may require four short term closures of Clemons Road. Appropriate detours will be provided and the local residences will be informed.
