US 12 - 40th Avenue Interchange Improvements

Project Description
This project improves safety and traffic flow at the US 12/40th Avenue Interchange. Improvements include a second lane for the eastbound on-ramp, efficient signal phasing, and improved connections between the Yakima Greenway and local bike and pedestrian pathways. These upgrades will increase capacity, improve traffic mobility, and encourage commercial and industrial development in this area.

Recent Progress
Work on project environment summary documents is complete. Right of way mapping is complete and property acquisition has begun.  WSDOT has developed preliminary channelization and signal plans.

Design Construction Impacts

No impacts this quarter.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The project will be a SEPA - Determination of Non-Significance.  The project will treat new stormwater runoff onsite as a result of new roadway constructed.
