Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending September 2007

Project Title & Location
US 101/SR 3 On Ramp to US 101 Northbound - New Ramp.

Project Description
This project will construct a new northbound on-ramp from SR 3 to US 101 which will provide an efficient and safe roadway for motorist. The existing at grade intersection currently requires northbound US 101 traffic to make a left turn against southbound US 101 vehicles.

Contractor/Consultant
Currently under WSDOT design.

Recent Progress
Hydraulics Report and TESC Plans have been completed and submitted for review and approval.

Design Construction Impacts
All identified impacts have been addressed.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The permits for the project are currently being obtained, waiting on completion of the Biological Assessment.

Impacts to Traffic
There will be some flagger controlled night time lane closures during the construction of the northbound on-ramp.  Bicycle traffic will be re-routed during the construction of the project.

Begin Preconstruction Engineering  May 15,  2005 Dec. 2005 Concept Approval on February 12, 2007. Project Management Plan endorsed on February 13, 2007.
Environmental Documentation Complete May 5, 2008 Permits are anticipated by November 2007.
Right of Way Certification November 5, 2008 The current design will fit within existing right-of-way, no right-of-way phase needed.
Project Advertisement October 6, 2008 Proposing to advance advertisement to February 2008.
Open to Traffic  September 31, 2009 With a February 2008 advertisement the project will be open to traffic in October 2008.
