Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending December 2007

Project Title & Location
US 101/SR 3 On Ramp to US 101 Northbound - New Ramp.

Project Description
This project will construct a new northbound on-ramp from SR 3 to US 101 which will provide an efficient and safe roadway for motorist. The existing at grade intersection currently requires northbound US 101 traffic to make a left turn against southbound US 101 vehicles.

Contractor/Consultant
Currently under WSDOT design.

Recent Progress
The Hydraulics Report and Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plan have been completed and submitted for review & have been approved.  The contract plans, estimate, and specifications have been submitted for agency review.

Project Development Approval was obtained on November 19, 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
Impacts will be evaluated upon further project definition.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The permits for the project are currently being obtained. Currently waiting on completion of the biological assessment.

Impacts to Traffic
Construction of the new ramp will have minimal impacts to traffic.

Begin Preconstruction Engineering  May, 2005  Dec. 15, 2005 Concept Approval on February 12, 2007. Project Management Plan endorsed on February 12, 2007.
Environmental Documentation Complete Nov. 2007 The current design will not directly impact environmentally sinsitive areas.
Right of Way Certification Oct. 2006 Nov. 14, 2007 The current design will fit within existing right-of-way.
Project Advertisement Feb. 12, 2008 Advertisement has been advanced to February 2008.
Open to Traffic Oct. 31, 2008 Project completion will be advanced to December 2008.
