  • RH2 Engineering of East Wenatchee, Washington is the consultant contracted by WSDOT to design the project.
  • This project will be combined with the SR 150 - W. of Chelan Install Lighting project.
  • Construction is scheduled for the spring/summer of 2009.

Project Status

Fall 2008

WSDOT has contracted design of this project to RH2 Engineering Inc. consultant firm of East Wenatchee, Washington. Construction is currently scheduled in the spring/summer of 2009. 
  

This Safety Improvement, Collision Prevention project provides for an illumination system at the intersection of SR 971 and South Lakeshore Road in Chelan County.

Why is WSDOT installing illumination at the intersection of SR 971 and Lakeshore Road.
This intersection has experienced a high number of night time accidents.  It has been identified that this intersection will benefit from an illumination system.

The End Result
An  illuminated intersection at SR 971 and S. Lakeshore Road.

Project Benefits
This project will reduce nighttime accidents by increasing visibility at the intersection during hours of darkness.

Construction is currently scheduled in the spring/summer of 2009.

Increasing safety is one of our priorities
In addition to the safety benefits of the project itself, a traffic control plan to protect motorists during construction and a work zone safety plan for the crews on the site will be part of the construction contract.

Will this project impact tribal resources?
No impacts have been identified. WSDOT seeks to address the concerns of tribal nations using the process outlined in section 106 of The National Historical Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.
