SR 900 - SE 78th Street to Newport Way

Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending March 2009

Project Title & Location
SR900 / Talus Drive Vic to Newport Way  Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Recent Progress
Construction is in progress since last August, installed TCP(Tacoma Cascade Pipe) water line steel casings under Tibbetts Creek and West Fork Attribute Creek.

 All retaining  walls, on SR 900 SB, have been constructed. Finished Stage 1 Bridge widening.  

All side sewer, and side water system link to residential streets are completed.

Grading and paving side streets and newly constructed driveways.

Completed utilities potholing, identified all conflict areas with proposed 42" TCP water line.

Completed TCP steel casing under Tibbetts Creek and West Fork Creek.

Significant progress on storm sewer installation. Complet excavating the proposed settling pond north of SR 900.

Completed all utilities relocate, power and communication lines.

Design Construction Impacts
Project comlpetion date is impacted due to a delay in delivering the 42" TCP sections.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
 Stormwater treatment will meet current water quality requirements.

Environmental impact mitigation work will be done in Lake Sammamish State Park.  Stream mitigation will be done on Right of Way .

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.

Begin work on TCP water line Construction (Funded by Tacoma Water Alliance portion).                                Stage 1 SR900 east bound widening and Storm Sewer drainage (nickle project). February 09  TCP construction begins in mid April 09 and expected to finish in two months.  Stage 1 SR900 placing two concrete culvert, and east bound widening and Bridge 900/29 widening will be finished in August 09
 
 
 
Open to Traffic Fall 09    Late November 09 expected the project will be substantialy completed, and opened for traffic.
