Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2007

Project Title & Location
SR900 / Talus Drive Vic to Newport Way  Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Contractor/Consultant
Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress

Met with Headquarters Geotechnical and Bridge & Structures to coordinate wall and culvert design issues.

The hydraulic report is under review.

WA State Parks Department is reviewing draft agreement for project environmental mitigation site.

The 60% plan review was held.

The Corp of Engineers permit was put on public notice.

The purchasing of property for this project is continuing.

Design Construction Impacts
The design office and Real Estate Services have been meeting with property owners to resolve access impact issues.  WSDOT is coordinating with the city of Issaquah concerning utility relocations and the installation of a 42 inch water main.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

HQ Hydraulics has requested the Department of Ecology accept the basic WSDOT wet pond design as adequate for enhanced treatment and for phosphorus removal based on sampling data.

Environmental impact mitigation work will be done in Lake Sammamish State Park.  Stream mitigation will be done on Right of Way being purchased adjacent to SR900.

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.

Contract AD Nov 07   Potential landslide features have been discovered in the hillside above the project that may present a risk to the ad date.  HQ Geotech Section is evaluating the situation.
Open to Traffic Fall 09
