Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2006

Project Title & Location
SR900 / Talus Drive Vic to Newport Way  Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress

The Legislature approved additional funding to complete this project.  The project is  to recombine the recent proposed two stages back into one project, with a revised ad date of November, 2007.

Real Estate Services has started making purchase offers for property from affected owners.

Design Construction Impacts
Working with the city of Issaquah to finalize channelization layout which includes two way left turn lanes and pedestrian facilities.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

Discussing phosphorus removal requirements with permitting agency to determine impacts on size of stormwater treatment ponds.  A report analyzing the performance of previously constructed treatment facilities is being revised and the hydraulics report is being finalized. 

Mitigation work will be done in Lake Sammamish State Park.

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.

Environmental Complete Dec 06    BA has been approved.  SEPA are being reviewed for submittal to the regulatory agencies.
Right of Way Certified Oct 07   Revised date is a result of recombining the project staging.

The Legislature approved additional funds to complete the entire project which enables recombining the two stages into one project.
