Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2005

Project Title & Location
SR900 / SE 78th Vic to Newport Way Vic Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Contractor/Consultant
Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress
New Right of Way plans have been completed and are under review.  Met with Washington State Parks to evaluate opportunity to use Lake Sammamish State park property for wetland mitigation and sensitive area restoration sites.  A location within the park has been identified.  Held a field meeting with the Multi Agency Permitting team.  A Cost Risk Assessment workshop was held to evaluate project costs.

Design Construction Impacts
Working with the city of Issaquah to determine final channelization layout and location of pedestrian facilities.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Discussing phosphorus removal requirements with permitting agency to determine impacts on size of treatment ponds.

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.
