Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending December 2006

Project Title & Location
SR900 / Talus Drive Vic to Newport Way  Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Contractor/Consultant
Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress

Preliminary wall locations, size and type have been selected.  The environmental discipline reports are complete.

The State Environmental Policy Act application has been approved.   The Joint Aquatic Resources Permit Application has been applied for.

An application to the state Parks Department to perform environmental mitigation work in Lake Sammamish State Park has been submitted.

Purchasing of Real Estate property required for this project is continuing.

Design Construction Impacts
The design office is working with Real Estate Services to address property owner issues.  WSDOT is coordinating with the city of Issaquah concerning utility relocations and the installation of a 42 inch water main.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

WSDOT is discussing phosphorus removal requirements with permitting agency to determine impacts on size of stormwater treatment ponds.  A report analyzing the performance of previously constructed treatment facilities is being revised and the hydraulics report is being finalized. 

Mitigation work will be done in Lake Sammamish State Park.

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.

Right of Way Certified Oct 07   Revised date is a result of recombining the project staging.
Contract AD Nov 07  

The Legislature approved additional funds to complete the entire project which enables recombining the two stages into one project.
