SR900 / SE 78th Vic to Newport Way Vic Widening --    in Issaquah

Project Description
This project will widen SR 900 from SE 78th vicinity north to Newport Way from 2 to 4 lanes and a two way left turn lane. The purpose is to add width and capacity to SR 900 to improve operations and safety.

Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress

A Cost Risk Assessment was completed for this project.  The project estimate is $5 million over the budget amount.  The project has been reviewed for cost saving opportunities and a preferred alternative has been identified.

Design Construction Impacts
Working with the city of Issaquah to determine final channelization layout and location of pedestrian facilities.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Discussing phosphorus removal requirements with permitting agency to determine impacts on size of stormwater treatment ponds.  A report has been prepared analyzing the performance of previously constructed treatment facilities and will be presented to the Multi Agency Permitting Team.

Impacts to Traffic
This project is targeted to improve efficiency of traffic operation.   Construction will require non-peak lane closures and temporary detours.
