Design Construction Impacts
Utility relocation work continues to be a concern for potential schedule delay and increase construction cost. We are working with the Utility companies and the contractor to minimize the impact.
More than anticipate ground water and offsite water has impeded the contractor ability to do the work. Dewatering system and French trench were installed to help mitigate the problem. However, we anticipate that this problem will be on going and will have cost impact to the project.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
There were several water quality exceedances on this project. We are working with the contractor to eliminate/reduce these exceedances. There were no environmental violations thus far.
Work at Cutthroat Creek and Great Danes Creek will be completed after the September 15, 2006 fish window. WDFW has granted extension to the fish window to October 31, 2006 for those two locations. We are working with the Contractor to make sure that all creek work will be done by October 31, 2006 deadline.

Impacts to Traffic
Traffic has experienced narrower lanes and shoulders, slower speeds and occasional stopped traffic in construction work zones during the daytime. Some night and weekend lane and roadway closures occurred during construction period. A comprehensive public information effort to share timing of construction activities and traffic impacts has occurred.
