Project Limits: This project is located east of Lynden and south of Sumas in Whatcom County. We will widen, straighten and improve SR 9 between Nooksack Road and Cherry Street. The orange highlighted section of SR 9 represents the project limits. The section of road outlined in black represents the new alignment of SR 9. We will realign SR 9 to eliminate three ninety-degree turns, improving safety and increasing freght mobility. The new alignment runs further east on Badger Road and then gradually sweeps north, eventually connecting with Easterbrook Road and continuing north into Sumas.
